Postpartum Care With Anthus
Care does not end when your baby is born.
The First 24–48 Hours
Support continues after we leave your home.
We check in during the first day and return for an in-person visit 24 to 48 hours after we leave.
At that visit, we reassess both you and your baby and may complete newborn screening, weight checks, oxygen-saturation assessment, heart and lung assessment, and observation for jaundice.
The Weeks That Follow
Postpartum care continues as you and your baby settle into the weeks ahead.
Around two weeks, we check in again with attention to newborn growth, feeding, screening, and your physical and emotional recovery.
Around six weeks, we reassess both of you and may offer additional routine care when appropriate.
Breastfeeding Support
Breastfeeding support begins early and continues throughout postpartum care.
We look at latch, positioning, comfort, your baby’s behavior at the breast, weight gain, and diaper output to understand how feeding is going overall.
If more specialized support is needed, we can help connect you with a lactation specialist.
More Support When You Need It
The routine postpartum schedule is a starting point, not a limit.
If you or your baby need closer follow-up, additional visits, phone calls, breastfeeding support, and continued monitoring are part of your care.
