Birth Care With Anthus
When Labor Begins
Labor does not always begin in an obvious way.
You do not need to know exactly where you are in labor before reaching out. We help you understand what is happening and when it is time for us to come.
What We Bring to Your Birth
Home birth includes ongoing clinical monitoring for both you and your baby.
Throughout labor, we regularly listen to your baby’s heartbeat and continue assessing how you are both doing.
We also bring oxygen, IV supplies, medications for postpartum bleeding, and neonatal resuscitation equipment so they are available if needed.
Care During Labor
Throughout labor, we remain attentive to both you and your baby.
We monitor wellbeing, observe how labor is progressing, support the normal process of birth, and respond to changes when needed.
Our role is to remain present, attentive, and clinically responsible as birth unfolds.
Immediately After Birth
The first hours after birth are an active time of care for both you and your baby.
We monitor your recovery, assess bleeding and vital signs, and watch your baby’s breathing, color, movement, and alertness as they adjust after birth.
We also support early breastfeeding and help your family begin settling in together.
Before We Leave
We do not leave simply because a set amount of time has passed.
Once you and your baby are stable and doing well, we continue observing for about two more hours.
During that time, we help you get comfortable and make sure both you and your baby are ready for us to leave.
